Preparing for your session
It’s almost time for your Senior Session! Here are a few helpful things to remember:
-It’s not time to go out and buy new clothes that you aren’t comfortable in. I always suggest wearing clothes that have been worn at least once, and you love wearing them. I can always tell in the eyes when someone is wearing something that isn’t something they would typically wear, or something that they have never tried on and doesn’t quite fit well.
-Feel free to bring any props that help show who you are. Any sports gear, pets, hobbies…..it’s a great time to be proud of what you love!
-If you haven’t picked out your location yet, I always suggest somewhere that you have been and possibly holds meaning to you. Do you love spending time at the beach? Let’s do some pictures at the beach! Do you love old rustic buildings? Let’s find a location that captures the rustic feel!
Again, if you choose a location that you aren’t familiar with or don’t enjoy being at……you won’t be as comfortable as you might be at your favorite spot. I always get asked where my favorite location is to photograph. My answer truly is anywhere! I know that doesn’t help much, but I love photographing the individual so much that I rarely pay attention to the background. If I did have to pick my favorites in the Anacortes area it would have to be Rosario Beach, Guemes Channel Trail, Bowman’s Bay, Washington Park, Deception Pass, and downtown against the brick buildings.
-The main thing to remember is that Senior photos are so much fun! I know it can be hard to have your picture taken for an hour and a half…but trust me when I say we will have lots of laughs and my hope is that you leave your session feeling confident and happy.
